Near Venice, an ambitious project of a complete packinghouse for high quality walnuts was born. For the sorting line, the board of Tenuta La Spiga chose the MAF technology, well known in Italy for his experience in walnuts sorting.
The plant includes an electronic sizer, Plumone, which has been specifically developped for small light fruit as walnuts. The selection of fruit is made by size thanks to the Optiscan 5 device and also by weight in order to detect and eliminate the dried walnuts. With this investment, Tenuta La Spiga made a big step ahead in the walnuts market.
